The Panerai PAM 00375 Luminor Composite 1950 3 Days (47mm)
The Panerai PAM 00375 Luminor 1950 3-Days Composite (47mm)
The Panerai PAM 00375 Luminor 1950 3-Days Composite is part of a limited collection from Officine Panerai. Only 2,000 PAM 00375 timepieces were created, although the watch is Panerai at its best, plus a few added and more rare features. Also known as the Luminor 1950 3 Days Composite, the PAM 00375 has an a pure composite case which is rare, even for Panerai watches, who are always on the cutting edge of function and originality. The watch, which debuted publicly at the SIHH 2011 Luxury Watch Trade Fair in Geneva, Switzerland took 5 years before it was finally available for retail sale, primarily due to the development process for the new Panerai Composite case being perfected — offering watch lovers and horology fans a true 1950 case Panerai, but one that is extremely light, strong and durable.
What Kind of Movement does the Panerai PAM 00375 Luminor 1950 3-Days Composite employ?
The PAM 00375 Luminor Composite 1950 3-Days offers Panerai’s all new hand-wound P.3000 calibre movement, which has been entirely designed and produced in the Officine Panerai. With a full diameter of 47mm and the watch being a mechanical hand-wind watch, the Panerai PAM 00375 remains one of the limited watches from the brand that interests watch collectors and serious Panerai brand enthusiasts alike. The movement itself includes beautifully designed large bridges/plates, 2 spring barrels and like other great mechanical Panerai watches, it includes a 3-Day or 72 hour power reserve so you can rest assured when you take it off and place it on the nightstand that it’ll be moving for you the next morning, or even the following day (so long as it is almost fully-wound).
What is the Case on the Panerai PAM 00375 Luminor 1950 3-Days Composite Made of?
The Luminor 1950 case measures in at 47 mm, which is of course a classic size for Panerai watches. Though the case is indeed black, in some lighting, the watch’s case almost looks like it has a light matte brown appearance, even and clean throughout its entire finish. The bridge on the classic Panerai crown protector device (both the bridge & lever) is all made of the same light & strong composite material. The bezel on the PAM 00375 is also composite and as with most Panerai watches, the Panerai PAM 00375 Luminor 1950 3-Days Composite features an AR treated Sapphire Crystal and of course, water-resistance to 100 meters in depth.
Dial & Details on the Panerai PAM 00375 Luminor 1950 3-Days Composite
The case on the PAM 00375 has a classic Panerai polished crystal back which allows for clear view of the gorgeous P.3000 calibre movement doing its job and keeping the watch in fine time. The vintage Panerai sandwich dial has that dark brown luster and has been and stays true to vintage watch form, in keeping Panerai’s trademark small seconds dial at 9 o’clock position.
The dial on the PAM 00375 is of sandwich construction, formed by combining 2 metal discs — a perforated upper disc to allow the luminous Super-LumiNova that placed between them to be made extremely visible even in dusk light. The ecru-colored hands of the PAM 00375 are also covered with the same substance, again to recreate that dazzling vintage look that Panerai’s of past eras were known for.
